Dear Voces Pacis Singers,
As you are aware, part of our mission as an organization is to provide opportunities for international travel and singing experiences. We are very excited to invite you to join us for our next tour, which will be to Greece, June 4-15, 2026.
This incredible tour will basically trace the footsteps of the Apostle Paul on his second missionary journey, visiting Thessaloniki, Phillippi, Berea, Corinth, Athens, Ephesus, and Patmos. Our goal is to not only provide opportunities for individual spiritual growth, but also for the group to sing in these meaningful venues. This tour truly will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Our tour hosts are David and Elizabeth Sparks of Footstep Ministries. They will guide us all along the journey providing excellent teaching and insight into the history and spiritual significance of the places we will visit. David, who began his ministry as a Presbyterian pastor prior to his call to take groups on tours to Greece, Israel, and Italy full-time, will enhance your understanding of what happened in these ancient cities and tie spiritual application to our everyday lives. Elizabeth was born in Bera, and as a native Greek, she provides expertise as our interpreter and takes care of us with excellent meal planning, sightseeing experiences, and lodging needs. These two are incredible people that you will come to love. Together they will provide you with a travel experience that will seem as if you have had personal guides for the tour.
The final days of the trip will be on a local Greek cruise line that will take us to Ephesus, Patmos, Crete, and the beautiful island of Santorini before returning to Athens for our trip home. We sincerely hope you find this itinerary as exciting as we do, and you will join us on this incredible tour.
Sincerely,
Stephen Holcomb

I am excited to introduce you to our tour company, Footstep Ministries. Owned and operated by David and Elizabeth Sparks, has been organizing and taking groups on tours to Greece, Israel, and Rome since 1982. You can read more about them on their website, but their company is unique in that it is ministry focused and exists to provide for their clients not only a travel experience of the highest quality, but also the opportunity to integrate spiritual encounters and faith moments all through the journey.
David, an ordained Presbyterian pastor, and Elizabeth, a native Greek from Berea, began organizing tours while he was still a pastor. It became clear that God was calling them to create Footstep Ministries full time for the express purpose of deepening the traveler’s spiritual life while exploring these important centers of the Christian faith.
Patty and I met them as part of our Home Group at church and made this trip with them in 2019. It was truly life-changing and an unforgettable experience.
Unfortunately, David and Elizabeth will not be able to be our tour directors because of another tour commitment on the same date as our tour. However, I am confident, and they have assured me that whoever is assigned to us for that responsibility will be excellent and take care of us as if they themselves were there. I trust them and know it will be a first-rate experience for you.
One of the things that you will notice is that almost every meal is included in the land cost of the tour. Why is this important? Because Elizabeth knows each of the vendors personally and she coordinates and prepares each menu to provide the best variety of Greek cuisine that far exceeds what you have experienced on previous trips you may have taken. For those of you who may have food allergies or needs, those can be accommodated.
I hope you will visit their website to learn more about the Sparks and this unique blend of travel.
Because we are over a full year ahead of our scheduled tour dates if has been impossible to gather specific cost for hotel accommodations, admission costs to sightseeing destinations, and land transportation costs. This is why we cannot give a definite cost per person at this time. This cost, when known, is inclusive of all land transportation, hotels. all entries to sight seeing destinations, all meals with the exception of those on our free day in Athens, the cruise portion of the tour and tips for our tour manager(s), bus drivers, etc, I am anticipating that the cost (double occupancy) will be $5000.00 plus/minus per person depending on market costs when we can lock in the price. This will most likely be June.
Because of the uniqueness of each traveler’s needs and wishes, we are NOT planning to offer group airfare. Evidently in the current market there is not substantial savings per person for group airfare anymore. Because of this decision, each traveler will secure his/her flight arrangements. This allows the traveler to use miles rewards as well as secure upgrades for more leg room, according to individual preference.
DETAILED information will be provided with regard to the time and hotel where we will gather to begin the tour. Some may wish to arrive early to get acclimated before the tour starts. This will be true regarding departure; I would wait until this information is settled before booking your flight. We will work to get this information to you as soon as possible so you can begin shopping for your best deal. However, most airlines will not book more than a year in advance, so we’re looking at June at the earliest.
There will be much fewer concerts on this tour, especially compared to the England tour which had a restrictive demand on our time for touring expectations. While I would not trade for the experience, I promised myself that this tour would have a much stronger focus on the travel aspect. Since we are not members of the Greek Orthodox Church, we will not be presenting concerts in these lovely venues, BUT there are many Evangelical local churches that will welcome our coming. Also, we are hopeful to have the experience of singing in an amphitheater outdoors; many of these theaters are still operating as they did in ancient Greece, so it will be an incredible and unique experience to present a concert in a venue such as this. As more details are determined I will share those with you.
Formal registration will begin in June, but I need and want to know if you are planning to participate, just so we can know our projected numbers and choir balance. I believe that the registration fee will be $200 to secure your place. Once you register, then there will be a payment schedule and a final balance payment due at least 60 days prior to departure.
Please note that we encourage family members and friends to join. The tour is not child-friendly, so it is recommended that no children under the age of 17 travel with us. There are some days of intense walking and strenuous inclines, steps, etc. Start a walking regimen now.
