Dear Voces Pacis Singers,

Digital scores are now available on the Singer's Resource Page https://www.vocespacis.org/2026-2027-season/singerresources.  Be on the look out for conductors notes which will be added soon!  Email Joshua.Brown@vocespacis.org for the password.  A reminder that North Texas Giving Day runs through September 17th.  There is still time to make a contribution!  Gifts make a meaningful impact regardless of the size of the gift.  We are grateful!  

There is still time for singers to join us for the Rutter Requiem in October.  The deadline to register at www.vocespacis.org is 10/2 at noon.  We would love to have folk join us!

Dear Voces Pacis Family,

I am honored to introduce myself as the new Chairman of the Voces Pacis Board. Voces Pacis is a special community of musicians, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside each of you as we continue sharing beautiful music and building upon the strong foundation of this organization.

I am also pleased to introduce our other board leadership updates. Jon Wilson joins the board as a new member and will serve as Vice Chair, while Landon Gilmore will assume the role of Secretary. I am excited to work alongside both of them as we support the continued growth and mission of Voces Pacis.

As we begin this new chapter, I want to express our sincere appreciation to Eric Couch, who has faithfully served as Chairman since the inception of Voces Pacis. His leadership, vision, and dedication have been instrumental in shaping the organization into what it is today. I also want to thank Melissa Graham for her dedicated service as Secretary and for the invaluable work she has done behind the scenes.

Both Eric and Melissa will continue serving on the board, allowing us to benefit from their experience and insight. I deeply appreciate them and the rest of our board members for their continued commitment to Voces Pacis.

I also want to recognize Dr. Stephen Holcomb, our Artistic Director, and Dr. Joshua Brown, our Executive Director. Their vision, leadership, and dedication are vital to the artistic excellence and continued growth of our organization.

I look forward to serving alongside this outstanding leadership team and each of you as we build upon our strong foundation and look ahead to all that is in store for Voces Pacis.

Update from Dr. Holcomb (8.18.2026)

Dear Voces Pacis Singers

I am so excited and eager to prepare the John Rutter REQUIEM for our October 16-17 weekend. This particular setting of the REQUIEM has become one of the most beautiful and meaningful pieces of modern choral literature. I want you to take your preparation seriously and not procrastinate practicing. The practice tracks are available at https://www.vocespacis.org/2026-2027-season/singerresources. The more familiar you are with both music and text the better experience we will have together; and, this will translate directly into the experience our audience will have as well. I would encourage you also to take each of the movements and, without music or singing, just meditate on the text as a part of your devotional routine over the next 8 weeks or so. I will have conductor's notes for you around the first part of September so you can mark your scores and share my vision for the music.

The instrumental ensemble has been hired and will bring outstanding artistry to the performance as well. If you have not registered to sing, it is certainly not too late to do so. It is not too late to begin inviting people to come to the concert; get it on the calendar so we will have a full audience.One of our strengths is the fellowship we enjoy in making the music happen - please reach out to singers who may not have been able to sing with us lately. Nothing would make me happier and make our performance stronger than to have as many of our talented singers join us as possible.

As we approach September, I want to also ask you to consider making a contribution to Voces Pacis on North Texas Giving Day. Monetary support will allow us to continue our vision to offer quality choral music to our community and our expenditures are not fully covered by membership registrations. Visit the front page of www.vocespacis.org which will have details about that soon!  Our June concert, A Spoonful of Broadway, was spectacular and FUN! Congratulations and Thank You to all who were a part. The Board is exploring more ways in which we can become more visible and viable in the Arts Community.

Finally, I am excited about the opportunity to perform in Stockholm, Sweden next July. Please see the tab on our website SWEDEN for more details, and consider being a part of this unique experience. Dr. Joshua Brown, our Executive Director, is taking the lead on this project and he can answer more fully any questions you might have.
