Hello, Voces Pacis singers!
We are about 5 weeks away from our March Concert weekend! As I continue to prepare for the concert, I am loving Heather Sorenson's SOLAS. It is such a beautiful and meaningful work. I talked with Heather and she will be attending our concert; if you have listened to the Youtube recording, you heard her remarks prior to the performance regarding the meaning and musical inspiration of her writing of the work. I have asked her to share these comments with our audience at our concert as well, and she has agreed. It will be a wonderful time together and having her be a part of the weekend will be an added blessing.
If for some reason you have not ordered you music, please do so as soon as possible and get started on preparing the work. You won't want to miss being a part of this concert! We're counting on every voice.
I am looking forward to having Dr. Joshua Brown conduct the five anthem pieces; you will enjoy working with him on these choral gens. As always, we look forward to collaborating with the DBU Chorale as they join us for this concert. Don't miss the opportunity to get to know these outstanding young musicians as they bring their voices and energy to the weekend.
You should have these pieces in your folder, ready for rehearsal on Friday evening, March 20:
My Eternal King (Jane Marshall)
Come, Thou Fount (Mack Wilberg)
At the Name of Jesus (Cindy Berry)
The Majesty and Glory of Your Name (Tom Fettke)
Great is Thy Faithfulness (Dan Forrest)
SOLAS (Heather Sorenson)
The Lord Bless You and Keep You (John Rutter)
Looking forward to seeing you soon, preparing this concert, and sharing exciting news and updates on SEAON 5!
